It is fair to say that the Dallas Cowboys had a disappointing season in 2020. The team missed out on the playoffs for the second consecutive year and headed into the offseason with a plethora of needs that were heavily skewed to the defensive side of the ball.

Despite a relatively quiet start to the free agency period, the organizations’ needs are more clear now heading into the 2021 NFL Draft than they were even just a couple of days ago. Dallas kicked off the unofficial start to free agency by mostly focusing on special teams before turning their attention to shoring up the defensive line.

The Cowboys currently own a whopping ten draft picks in the upcoming NFL Draft and should be able to address at least some of their needs with the right selections. Given the fact that, at least at the time of this writing, Dallas has been fairly inactive in free agency the draft should become even more critical for the team if it wants a shot to make a deep run into the playoffs.

Obviously, if the organization makes an unexpected splash in free agency by signing someone like cornerback Kyle Fuller or safety Keanu Neal this mock draft would likely need to be tweaked at least a little bit. However, with that caveat out of the way, it is now time for the Dallas Cowboys to make their first overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft with the tenth overall pick.
