Round 1, Pick 10: Patrick Surtain II

• Cornerback, Alabama
• Height/Weight: 6-2, 202 lbs.

First impressions?

I am not taking Kyle Pitts. Don’t go there with me. If Surtain or Farley is still on the board, the Dallas Cowboys must indulge in this cornerback narrative.

Simply put: I will not go offense if there are strong defensive pieces on the board. I won’t do it. So, don’t ask. And if Jerry Jones gets the Kyle Pitts feelings on NFL Draft night, let us all say a Hail Mary with Roger Staubach and hope another Zack Martin moment repeats itself.

The Dallas Cowboys need defense. Let’s pair Trevon Diggs with a partner in crime. Let’s allow these two young guns to run loose at the valley and watch as their stock reaches bullish territory. Did I mention the Cowboys need defensive help?

K.I.S.S. – Keep it super simple

Well, now I’m starting to wonder what Dallas is thinking if wide receiver DeVonta Smith from Alabama is still around? He was in this mock draft. Pass! Gimme Surtain, and gimme now!

Patrick Surtain II played three seasons for Alabama. He collected 111 tackles, 25 pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and four interceptions.
