If the draft were to be held today, the Dallas Cowboys are either going to take the best cornerback, tight end, or tackle in this year’s draft. That is what it feels like and we are still just under 60 days away from the event.

Anything can happen but the biggest thing about all of these social media fights is that although the Dallas Cowboys need to pick the best player available, free agency will likely alter what everyone believes should be the Cowboy’s pick.

The point I am trying to make is the Dallas Cowboys front office will, if they haven’t already, go through their draft scenarios and how to hypothetically deal with the cards they get dealt. I am going to place hypothetical scenario’s in free agency and see how it affects the team’s and Cowboy fan’s draft plans. I am also going to give certain players available to be drafted.

Smart front offices prepare themselves for unforeseen circumstances sort of like when Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb fell to them in last year’s draft. Who thought that was even a remote possibility yet the team sits here with arguably the best wide receiver trio in the entire league.

I’m sure there was even doubt in your head that the Cowboys would select Lamb and choose their supposed target in LSU defensive end K’lavon Chaisson.

With so much quarterback turnover in the league right now, it is not out of the question to think that this year’s NFL Draft is going to be bananas. Especially for the teams that have an empty quarterback seat once the ride comes to a complete stop.

No matter how unlikely, the Cowboys have to be prepared for anything moving forward and I am really curious to see what everyone else would do in the same situation.
