With the 10th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Caleb Farley. Cornerback. Virginia Tech

No surprise here. Arguably the best cornerback in the entire 2021 NFL Draft class, the Cowboys can’t get this wrong with Farley. I am also high on Patrick Surtain II out of Alabama and did a write-up on that as well.

Surtain went one pick before Farley in this instance, so I guess I had to settle for Farley. I kid, I kid. Relax.

Standing at six-foot-two, the cornerback comes to Dallas to bolster the secondary. A North Carolina native, Farley is expected to start immediately and have an impact on day one. What this means for current cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie, Anthony Brown, and Jordan Lewis is up in the air. But clearly, the Cowboys need some fresh air on the defense.

I’m actually really excited about the Farley and Surtain debate. If the Denver Broncos go with Surtain with the ninth overall pick, and the Cowboys do grab Farley, it’ll be a fun roller coaster ride to follow as the two will be compared for eternity. So, who will get it right?

For Farley, I like the way he glides on the field. A former wide receiver, Farley is programmed to catch the ball. Pairing this 207 pounder with Trevon Diggs is something to get excited about. The Dallas defensive program needs to up their turnover ratio. Farley and Diggs could be the dynamic duo Dallas hasn’t witnessed for years in Big D.
