5 Cowboys replacements for Kellen Moore at offensive coordinator
#5. Dan Mullen, HC – Florida
Currently the head coach at the University of Florida, Dan Mullen could be looking to make the jump into the NFL after receiving a recent one-year show-cause penalty for NCAA violations of recruiting rules.
Mullen has one of the top offenses in college football (averaging 41.6 points per game) and a potential Heisman winner in quarterback Kyle Trask under center. But prior to his successful three-year run at Florida, he was the head coach at Mississippi State from 2009-2017.
That happens to coincide with the college career of one Rayne Dakota Prescott, otherwise known as Dak Prescott, the current quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. The two-time NFL Pro Bowl passer played under Mullen for four years from 2012 to 2015.
That past relationship with the quarterback of America’s Team plus his success over the past three years with the Florida Gators would seem to make Dan Mullen an ideal candidate as the next offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
