#4. Frank Cignetti Jr., OC – Boston College

Now, this idea comes from former NFL general manager for both the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, Randy Mueller via Twitter. And it was seconded by former DallasCowboys.com analyst and current 105.3 The Fan broadcaster, Bryan Broaddus.

Frank Cignetti Jr. is currently the offensive coordinator at Boston College. And he’s the son of Frank Cignetti Sr., who was the longtime head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1986-2005) and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Cignetti Jr. coached under his father for many years before jumping to the NFL in 1989 as an offensive assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs. His first offensive coordinator job came in 2015 with the St. Louis Rams.

As head coach for the Green Bay Packers, Mike McCarthy hired Cignetti Jr. to be his quarterbacks coach to work with Aaron Rodgers in 2018. That was after a two-year stint working with Eli Manning as the quarterbacks coach of the New York Giants.

It certainly makes sense that McCarthy might once again reach out to Cignetti Jr. to help him in Dallas as either the offensive coordinator or possibly the new quarterbacks coach if Nussmeier is promoted.
