7. Michael Gallup, Wide Receiver

The Dallas Cowboys offense fell off a cliff after the injury of starting quarterback Dak Prescott. His injury has affected the entire offense, including the production of the teams’ talented group of young wideouts. That group includes the third-year wide receiver, Michael Gallup.

Gallup was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The young wideout had a reasonably productive start to his career when he posted 507 receiving yards in his rookie campaign.

However, the Colorado State University product burst onto the scene during his second year in the league. He finished his second season with 1107 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Playing alongside multiple-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper certainly helped the production of the young receiver.

Gallup started his third season on pace to break his career-high in yards. The 24-year old managed to haul in 11 catches for an other-worldly 246 receiving yards in his first three games. However, Gallup has seen a drop-off in production since that hot start.

The young wideout has been somewhat overshadowed by Dallas’s other top two receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. He is currently third on the team in both receiving yards with 538 and fifth in receptions with 37.

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most talented young receiving corps in the NFL right now. Michael Gallup is a very talented player who has been a victim of circumstances so far this season. His talent and his potential earn him a spot on a list he could be moving up once the team gets its franchise quarterback back under center.
