The Dallas Cowboys have had a rough season but individual accolades are still available for those who played well this year.

I always thought of the NFL Pro Bowl system as this well-oiled machine that properly rewarded player’s contributions accordingly. After Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee initially missed the Pro Bowl in 2016 but made the All-Pro team, I quickly realized that the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest.

Nevertheless, the Dallas Cowboys have a couple of players who deserve consideration for this year’s Pro Bowl.

There will also be a few players who could hear their name called simply because of what they have done in the past. This year’s popularity contest no doubt has a few names that will enrage the fan base but will go unnoticed by the national media unless they push out a deserving player.

Those who cover this team know that that there are only two players deserving of having their name called but will more than likely have more because of the national obsession with this team.

Injuries and Super Bowl participants will no doubt create holes in this year’s Pro Bowl participants, which will not include an actual game, but I expect five Dallas Cowboy players to eventually end up with this honor added to their resumes.
