Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott walks normally in released video

Against the New York Giants back in Week Five, Dak Prescott did something he had never done before in his entire five-year career under center for the Dallas Cowboys. And that’s snagging a receiving touchdown. Unfortunately, the young quarterback for America’s Team would also suffer the first major injury of his career in that very same game.

A compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle that required immediate surgery ended Prescott’s season back in early October. And ever since the Cowboys have struggled to replace, not only his production but his leadership.

Following that win against the Giants on Oct. 11, the Cowboys have started three different quarterbacks. And as a result, they have been only able to win a single game in their six contests without Prescott under center.

It’s been less than two months since Prescott suffered that devastating ankle injury. On Friday, he made an appearance at Cowboys’ practice. And in the below video tweeted out by the Cowboys’ official Twitter page, Prescott can clearly be seen walking normally for a moment in front of running back Ezekiel Elliott.

While Prescott was able to momentarily show off the results of his rehabilitation following ankle surgery, he’s also still walking with a crutch. Which in itself is a victory considering he’s less than two months into an estimated four-to-six month rehab.

Prescott’s recovery is something the entire organization and fanbase will be watching closely this offseason as Dak is once again scheduled to become the NFL’s top-rated unrestricted free agent in March. The 27-year old played this past season on the exclusive franchise tag at a cost of $31.4 million.

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to try and sign Dak Prescott to a long-term contract this offseason. But if there are complications that occur with Prescott’s rehab, that could muddy the waters a bit. But based on the above video, Dak appears to be ahead of schedule when it comes to his recovery.
