5 young Dallas Cowboys who should shine in 2021
Here are a handful of young Dallas Cowboys set to become stars in 2021
Despite their 3-8 record, the Dallas Cowboys do have a very talented roster. Unfortunately, it’s also a roster that’s been decimated by injuries and inconsistent play this year.
Still, prior to the start of the NFL regular season, some predicted the Cowboys would be the NFC’s No. 1 seed in 2020. While that’s unthinkable now, potentially even laughable based on how we’ve seen the season unfold, it speaks to the talented players who once populated the depth chart. Many of whom currently reside on Injured Reserve.
Despite the down year in Dallas, there’s reason to hope for a much brighter future in Big D. And that’s due in part to the young talent we’ve seen emerge over the past 12 weeks. With that in mind, here are five still developing players who believe are set up to shine brightly in 2021.
5. Trysten Hill, DT
Prior to suffering a season-ending knee injury (torn ACL) in Week Five, defensive tackle Trysten Hill was playing the best football of his young NFL career. That after an underwhelming rookie season that saw the Cowboys’ top selection in 2019 record just five tackles and two QB hits in seven games.
Hill would surprisingly flourish under new defensive coordinator Mike Nolan after spending most of his first season in Rod Marinelli’s doghouse, the former DC in Dallas. While a still very raw and unpolished defender, the 22-year old was at times the Cowboys’ most disruptive force this season.
While his career in Dallas started out as a bust, the arrow is certainly pointing upward for 2021 after Hill showed signs of life as a five-game starter in his second season.
