While the Dallas Cowboys rest, here are three games fans should watch

The 2-7 Dallas Cowboys limp into their bye this week, hoping to find a way to turn things around and quickly. But just because America’s Team isn’t playing, that doesn’t mean there aren’t meaningful games for fans to watch.

Here are three matchups that will impact the Cowboys in one way or another that fans might want to tune in for Week 10.

Washington at Lions, Sunday 12:00 pm CT

The Cowboys are set to face the Washington Football Team on Thanksgiving day. But first, Washington will head to the Motor City to face a struggling Detroit Lions’ squad in Week 10.

This is bad news for Dallas as 2-6 Washington currently sits above the Cowboys in the standings in second place behind the front runners, the 3-4-1 Philadelphia Eagles. This is a winnable game for the WFT as the Lions are currently on a two-game losing skid and will be without their top wide receiver, Kenny Golladay, due to a hip injury.

Washington has had their share of key injuries as well, losing starting quarterback Kyle Allen to a season-ending ankle injury just last week. Yet, the team does have veteran passer Alex Smith to replace Allen. And Smith has a history of success in the NFL that could help turn the tide in this matchup.

Eagles at Giants, Sunday 12:00 pm CT

The reasons for watching this NFC East matchup are obvious. The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington both sit atop the Cowboys in the standings. And the New York Giants are in the divisional basement with a record of 2-7, the same as Dallas.

If there’s a team worth rooting for in this contest it’s probably New York. If the G-Men figure out a way to defeat the Eagles, they could give the Cowboys a better chance of winning the division.

Vikings at Bears, Monday 7:15 pm CT

Dallas Cowboys’ fans have a reason to tune in to Monday Night Football this week. Despite the game being an NFC North divisional matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings, one of these teams is set to face the Cowboys in Week 11. That team being the Vikes, who are coming into this Monday night matchup fresh off two back-to-back divisional victories and looking for a third.
