2. The elite one in Michael Gallup

He’s electric. There’s just something about this Michael Gallup guy. He has this “it” factor about him, this playmaker essence.

The Dallas Cowboys stole his rights in the 2018 NFL Draft, selecting him in the third round, 81st overall. The 24-year-old may get lost in the shuffle between wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper, but it’s apparent when the Cowboys need a big play, the vote goes to Michael Gallup.

Back before this season began, I noted how important it was to take some mental photos of the 2020 roster. I believed it then, and I believe it even more now that the Dallas Cowboys won’t be able to keep this core intact.

We are already seeing the gruesome reality of 2020. The Cowboys have already lost Tyron Smith and La’el Collins for the year. Dak Prescott is now on that list. The Trysten Hill reboot seemingly ended before it started. Injuries to Sean Lee and Leighton Vander Esch have also defined the narrative of 2020.

Look, the Cowboys can’t keep this triple threat forever. There’s just no way Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup play together forever.

If you were curious like me, Gallup is on his rookie contract until the 2022 season. He is under contract until the 2021 year, where he takes a salary cap hit of $1.1 million, according to Spotrac.com.
