As the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a lot of expectations placed on him. Some wondered if he would get enough opportunities due to the two names listed earlier.

If there was any doubt, the games played thus far should erase it. Yeah, statistically, the rookie has played well. Watching the games, you will see a bigger picture.

The college superstar has not disappointed since entering the NFL. Cowboys fans should be happy with his performance thus far. After all, he is playing as expected.

Since drafting him, there were questions as to how this would impact Gallup and where Lamb would rank among the trio of wideouts. Well, it looks like we have our answer.

The former Sooner ranks second among the top three wideouts for receiving yards, targets, and receptions. We have also seen the Cowboys give him some opportunities to run the ball and return punts.

Amongst rookie wideouts, Lamb is behind only Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings in receiving yards. CeeDee does, however, lead all rookie wideouts in receptions.

Yeah, the newest member of the legendary “88” group has played well. It was also something that the Dallas Cowboys and their fans expected. After all, they don’t hand that number out to just anyone.

What impressed me the most was his ability to separate himself from Gallup as early as he did. I would have expected Gallup to have a better start with Lamb having a better ending to the season.

I’m sure no one is complaining, except for the opposing defenses. All three wideouts are on pace to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards. That is something that I was hoping for but thought maybe it is too good to be true.

The Dallas Cowboys have tough defensive matchups later in the season, and that will tell the tale of this wide receiver trio. But, so far, so good.
