Dallas Cowboys: What’s going on with these three invisible players?
By Matt Aaron
Neville Gallimore, Defensive Tackle
Neville Gallimore is another player Dallas drafted who looked like a steal.
Taken in the third round of this year’s draft, the 308 lb, 6-foot-2 tackle started most of his four years at Oklahoma, racking up 147 tackles, 17 of them tackles for loss, and eight sacks.
Dallas defensive coordinator Mike Nolan described him as a “man among boys,” in the college game.
This past Sunday, the Cowboys gave up 307 yards rushing, a franchise record. That means America’s Team just gave up the most yards on the ground in 60 years of football.
And that was with Cleveland deprived of their starting running back Nick Chubb, who was injured early in the game.
It was a pathetic performance by the Dallas defense, to say the least. The front seven looked like Swiss cheese at times, with runners carving them up at will.
One would think the Cowboys could use a guy like Gallimore. But he’s hardly seen the field.
