In a highly anticipated matchup of Week 3, the Dallas Cowboys lose in Seattle

After two weeks of having a poor pass-rush, the Dallas Cowboys line up against the Seattle Seahawks. Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott have both enjoyed a good two weeks to start the season. This game would not disappoint.

Heading into the game, the Cowboys had issues with their pass rush. Within the first three possessions for the Seahawks, defensive end Aldon Smith sacked Wilson twice.

That’s equal to the total sacks for the Cowboys in the first two weeks of the season combined. Smith would go on to post a total of 3.0 sacks in this ballgame.

Right before the end of the first quarter, Wilson found wide receiver D.K. Metcalf wide open downfield. As he approached the endzone, he loosened up, allowing rookie corner Trevon Diggs to punch the ball out and through the endzone for a touchback.

A trio of penalties allowed Seattle to score their second touchdown of the day. One erased a sack for a loss of seven yards, one erased an interception by defensive back Daryl Worley, and another gave the Seahawks the ball at the one-yard line.

Prescott found wide receiver Cedrick Wilson for a 40-yard touchdown. It was a short pass that Wilson took advantage of, showing off his speed. Unfortunately, the extra point attempt was blocked.

At halftime, Seattle was winning 23-15

To start the half, Prescott was hit as he tried to throw the ball, and it was caught by defensive lineman Benson Mayowa. This gave the Seahawks the ball at the Cowboys’ five-yard line, needing only two plays to score a touchdown.

After finding Wilson for a touchdown earlier in the game, Dak looked his way again. A nice catch and run gave him a 42-yard touchdown.

Prescott was able to connect with wideout Michael Gallup deep for a great catch on a 43-yard touchdown. A two-point conversion to tie the game was stopped just short.

Down by seven points, the Cowboys had 1:47 left and three timeouts. Bad pass protection resulted in an interception in the endzone to end the game.

Final Score: Seattle Seahawks 38, Dallas Cowboys 31

Prescott completed 37 of his 57 passes for 472 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Dak would also rush for 26 yards and lost a fumble. Running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 34 yards and a score on 14 carries.

Wide receiver Michael Gallup brought in six passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Cedrick Wilson had five catches for 107 yards and two scores. Defensively, Diggs led the team with nine solo tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass defend.

The 1-2 Dallas Cowboys play the 2-1 Cleveland Browns in AT&T Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 12:00 pm CDT in Week Four.
