Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons: 3 bold predictions
The Dallas Cowboys will square off with the Atlanta Falcons in which both teams will try to avoid an 0-2 start.
The Dallas Cowboys had high expectations coming into last week’s game vs the L.A. Rams and naturally when their fan-base has the utmost excitement for them the team brings us back down to reality. But let’s not panic just yet!
The Cowboys have a lot of work to do and we saw it last week. We saw key injuries occur to linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, tight end Blake Jarwin and now recent reports show wide receiver Amari Cooper and left tackle Tyron Smith will be game-time decisions.
The offense didn’t impress last week as the team and fans expected and the defense was the same old defense we saw in years past. Giving up huge chunks of yards and not being able to get off the field. Maybe they can make more of an impact this Sunday 1:00 ET.
With that being said, the Boys need to move on and avoid an 0-2 start. The offense needs to fire on all cylinders and the defense needs to force some turnovers or at least a few three and outs. Winning needs to occur now in Dallas and I have three bold predictions for this upcoming Sunday.
Ezekiel Elliott totals over 200 yards of offense
Running back Ezekiel Elliott looked phenomenal in my personal opinion last week. Was it me or did he look leaner and way more explosive than last year, even more so than his rookie year. My guess if he goes for around 130 yards on the ground and about 75 yards as a receiver. Feed Zeke!
Dak Prescott throws for four touchdowns
This game will be a high scoring affair in my opinion. Quarterback Dak Prescott looked great last week and having a struggling right tackle hasn’t helped his cause. But I thought his patience and poise in the pocket was outstanding, making multiple correct reads.
Prescott will continue to make plays for this Dallas offense and this week he will hit for around 300 yards passing and four touchdowns in a high scoring shootout.
Julio Jones will be limited to under 100 yards receiving
This is definitely the boldest of the three but I have faith in the rookie cornerback Trevon Diggs and Chidobe Awuzie. I’m going to go with wide receiver Julio Jones totaling seven receptions for 90 yards. Again, I do think it will be a high scoring game but Atlanta’s damage will come from running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Calvin Ridley.
