Regular Season

To win the Super Bowl, you have to make the playoffs. To make the playoffs, you have to play well during the regular season. Let’s break down how they may perform in 2020.

Every NFL team plays teams in their division twice every season. One game is played at home, the other is played away. How do the Cowboys stand against the Washington Football Team, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles?

The first division game Dallas plays is against the Giants in Week 5. While running back Saquon Barkley is going to be a problem, he is the only lethal threat on the team offensively or defensively. I can see the Cowboys winning both games since … you know … the Giants aren’t a competitive team.

Next up would be Washington. They have a couple of names on their roster, headlined by wideout Terry McLaurin, Chase Young, and Landon Collins. Their questions at quarterback and a lack of more notable talent will hold them from winning any game against Dallas this year.

The toughest matchup, as it has been for a couple of years now, the Eagles. They still have a stout defense with a great offensive line and a good quarterback. Every game is usually a close one, but Dallas won four of the past five matches. I see both teams winning one game.

By in division games, the Dallas Cowboys should have a record of 5-1. That’s quite a good mark. What other close matchups are there this season?

Week 1 sees the Cowboys play against the Los Angeles Rams in their new SoFi Stadium. They face a defense with star players Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, but I’m sure the Cowboys can pull together a win. The Rams offense is good, but Dallas’ offense is better, and that’s what separates them.

In Week 3, Dallas is in Seattle, playing against an electrifying quarterback in Russell Wilson. The Seahawks have a very good offense, great linebackers, very good defensive backs, but poor linemen. This game will be decided by the Cowboys defensive line and Zeke. That’s a W.

Week 6 sees the Arizona Cardinals in Dallas, where head coach Kliff Kingsbury brings his air-raid offense into the building. Grabbing Deandre Hopkins, and retaining a stud defense, the Cowboys will need to stay sharp this game. I think the Cowboys will be too comfortable and let the game slip away.

Dallas will play against a top defense in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While their defense is looking great, their offense has an issue of being consistent. When up against a team as talented as Dallas, you can’t afford a slip-up, so give the Cowboys another win.

The 2019 NFL MVP, Lamar Jackson, and the Baltimore Ravens play Dallas in what will be one of the best games of the NFL season. Both have electrifying offenses, and both have good defenses. The versatility in the Ravens offense and their consistent defense will give the Ravens the win.

In Week 15, the San Francisco 49ers and their stunning defense are in Dallas. Their offense took a step up after acquiring left tackle Trent Williams and wideout Brandon Aiyuk. It is a very tough matchup, and I see the 49ers coming away with the win.

At the end of it all, I can see the Dallas Cowboys finishing the season with a 12-4 record. That should be enough to win the NFC East, and get a ticket into the playoffs.
