Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams matchups and season predictions
After what seemed like an eternal wait marred in confusion, the Dallas Cowboys are finally set to take the field this Sunday night. It’ll start as a treat just to see football again, but the excitement will surely turn to despair if Dallas does not prevail.
To determine the team’s chances of leaving Los Angeles victorious, it’s appropriate to breakdown the general match-ups. To do so, let’s analyze eight overall battles.
Trench warfare, running game, and passing game on each side of the ball are the first six. In addition special teams and coaching will play a big part. Without further ado, it’s time to dive in.
COWBOYS OFFENSIVE LINE VS RAMS DEFENSIVE LINE
Joe Looney takes over for retired Travis Frederick at center for Dallas. Cameron Erving will fill in for injured La’el Collins at right tackle. Michael Brockers and Aaron Donald are tough draws for the new Cowboys line to deal with.
The loss of Dante Fowler will ding the Rams pass rush some, but they return most of the pieces from a unit that was 9th in rushing yards per carry allowed. Dallas will struggle up front at times, but still has the horses to find quality production.
ADVANTAGE: RAMS*
RAMS OFFENSIVE LINE VS COWBOYS DEFENSIVE LINE
Dallas strolls into a ripe opponent to unveil all of their new talented pass rushers and larger run stoppers. The deep rotation of dangerous defenders and multiple lineups should give an average Los Angeles line fits.
