The Dallas Cowboys find a super boost from CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs. The dynamic duo is turning heads and will create wins in 2020.

Going into training camp, it’s natural that eyeballs follow the team’s first pick from the NFL Draft. Last season, the Dallas Cowboys showboated Trysten Hill, a defensive tackle from UCF. But, that turned out to be a snooze fest.

Although CeeDee Lamb is a headliner stealer, Mr. Trevon Diggs is letting the world understand he isn’t just a kid brother to some big-name wide receiver. As a result, the Dallas Cowboys are showcasing a pair of young rookies primed for the spotlight.

Oh. Boy. You know Jerry Jones is up in his big owner’s office giggling to pieces about this resurgence. At the very least, he’s pinching himself daily by the thought of nailing down two promising pieces.

Who are we to blame him? The Lamb and Diggs duo have done nothing but steal the summer headlines thus far in the training camp of 2020. But should we all be surprised by the growth spurts from the 17th and 51st overall picks of the 2020 NFL Draft?

I don’t know. You tell me. Let’s dive into where the pair left off in college.

Cedarian Lamb finished out his final college year at Oklahoma in style. The 21-year-old earned 62 receptions, 1,327 receiving yards, 14 touchdowns, and averaged a whopping 21.4 yards a catch in 2019. Additionally, the receiver ran the ball nine times and took one to the house.

In 2019, Trevon De’Sean Diggs earned 37 tackles, three interceptions, eight pass deflections, a defensive touchdown score, and two forced fumbles, one of which he returned for a touchdown. For his strong efforts, the 22-year-old earned First-Team All-SEC and Third-Team All-American.

Once again, are you surprised these two youngsters are hitting their stride so early? The pair are primed and hungry to go.

There’s been so much discussion about Lamb dropping all the way down to the Dallas Cowboys at the 17th spot. But let’s not forget, Diggs is proving he has first-round material as well. It’s looking more and more like the Cowboys added a pair of successful components to their football circuitry.

At this time last year, the Cowboys found building pieces in Trysten Hill (58th overall pick) and Connor McGovern (90th overall pick). But it was Tony Pollard, who was picked 38 spots after McGovern, who really drove up the 2019 class.

In 2020, the Dallas Cowboys sport a two-face assault, offensively and defensively. With Diggs and Lamb battling against each other in camp, the ceiling is up in the air, which makes this freshman situation even more enduring.

Fortunately, we are just two Sundays away from football action. The Dallas Cowboys visit the Los Angeles Rams on September 13 for some Sunday night action. Of course, the Lamb and Diggs headline will be there, but we don’t know which rookie will intercept the spotlight. Stay tuned.
