Five Dallas Cowboys who are turning heads at training camp
Tony Pollard, RB
Playing behind the NFL’s top running back in Ezekiel Elliott has helped to keep the offensive secret that is Tony Pollard under wraps for anyone that’s not a fan of the Cowboys. Entering his second season, Pollard continues to impress.
Both Elliott and Pollard figured to be heavily involved in the passing game under the new coaching regime in Dallas. With Tony being mentioned by running back coach Skip Peete as a potential wide receiver in some of their new formations.
With all the unknowns heading into one of the most unusual NFL seasons in league history, depth figures to become one of the biggest determiners of team success in 2020. And fans can feel secure knowing the Cowboys have a solid backup to Elliott in the backfield.
But Pollard figures to be much more involved than just your average backup running back. With the ability to run the football, lineup on the outside as a receiver, and play special teams as a dynamic returner; the former fourth-rounder out of Memphis could become the ultimate gadget playmaker in this new offense.
