Who will be “the other guy” opposite Tank?

We know that the Dallas Cowboys have a “war daddy” in DeMarcus Lawrence. We have no idea who else is threatening opposing quarterbacks in 2020.

Tyrone Crawford is starting camp on the PUP list after missing most of 2019 to have both hips surgically repaired. While that’s likely just to ease him back into the fray, he’s never been a big sack guy. There are young guys like Dorance Armstrong and rookie Bradlee Anae. Needless to say, they are both big question marks.

The biggest question mark of all, however, is without a doubt Aldon Smith. Once upon a time, Smith posted 42 sacks in three seasons. He then went on to register less than six in two seasons and was out of the league for four years, mostly due to several off the field transgressions.

Smith’s back now and the Cowboys are hoping more than anyone, that he’s back with a vengeance. After seeing Robert Quinn leave for Chicago via free agency, this group of edge rushers has at least 12 sacks to make up for in 2020. If they do so, this team could go places. If not, it could spell doom for any dreams of football in January.
