Who will emerge from the pu pu platter of cornerbacks?

During the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys lost their best defensive back via free agency. With Byron Jones taking his talents to South Beach, the chasm left at this spot became immense.

The Cowboys did attempt to address the issue, drafting two guys and bringing in veteran Daryl Worley. Those three players, along with Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis, Anthony Brown, Deante Burton, C.J. Goodwin, and Chris Westry will all compete for roster spots.

The likelihood is that Awuzie, Lewis, and Brown will be the starters at the spot. It is very possible that Trevon Diggs and Reggie Robinson push hard for maximum playing time, though.

Regardless, the Dallas Cowboys need Awuzie to be better than last season. They need Lewis to prove he was a target of the previous coaching regime. The Cowboys need Diggs to be worthy of the 51st overall pick.

Simply put, a large amount of the success the Dallas Cowboys have in 2020 will directly correlate to how this group plays. Every single one of these guys has been in the league for less than five years. That is a lot of pressure on a lot of you guys. Pressure makes diamonds, however, and the Dallas Cowboys are certainly hoping they have a gem or two in this group.
