Dallas Cowboys: Analyzing the Jamal Adams blockbuster trade
The runner up winner of the Jamal Adams sweepstakes …
No question here. The Dallas Cowboys. Simple.
And the organization didn’t have to do much other than sponsoring a little interest in the mega-trade. Sometimes, the best action is to remain idle and do nothing. The ‘Boys did just that here.
Let’s recall the three trade scenarios I previously proposed:
Trade scenario #1
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 first-round pick
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 fourth-round pick
• Wide Receiver Michael Gallup
Trade scenario #2
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 first-round pick
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 third-round pick
• Running back Tony Pollard
Trade scenario #3
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 first-round pick
• Dallas Cowboys 2022 second-round pick
• Dallas Cowboys 2022 fourth-round pick
• Safety Xavier Woods
Now, let’s review the actual trade package that the Seahawks sent to the Jets:
Actual trade between Seattle and New York:
• Seattle Seahawks 2021 first-round pick
• Seattle Seahawks 2022 first-round pick
• Seattle Seahawks 2021 third-round pick
• Safety Bradley McDougald
Depending on how you’d like to look at this, I’d like to think that the Dallas Cowboys saved Michael Gallup, Xavier Woods and a plethora of decisive draft picks that may wield the power to claim the NFL throne.
Again, I give credit to the Cowboys organization for holding steady. By saving these draft picks, the Dallas Cowboys control their future. The Cowboys have been very successful in the NFL Draft as of late, so preventing those NFL Draft picks from leaking out was essential to keep the core intact.
