We rank the Dallas Cowboys last ten years of second-round draft picks

With training camp news still a bit on the horizon, we decided to take a look at the last ten years of second-round draft picks selected by the Dallas Cowboys.

The stretch begins with former head coach Jason Garrett’s first full season (2011) and through new head coach Mike McCarthy’s first draft in Dallas (2020). There were nine picks total, as there was no second-round selection in 2012.

CREAM OF THE CROP

1. DEMARCUS LAWRENCE (DE) – 2014 DRAFT

Lawrence is the Cowboys best player on defense, signed a massive contract extension last season, and has made two recent Pro Bowls (2017-18).

2. JAYLON SMITH (LB) – 2016 DRAFT

After overcoming a severe injury, Smith displayed his high talent over the last two seasons and made the Pro Bowl in 2019. While he’s seemed vulnerable at times, when healthy and focused Smith is a force on the field.
