Who emerges at cornerback?

The team’s biggest positional battle will likely be had at cornerback this summer. The exodus of Pro Bowler Byron Jones this offseason via free agency and the introduction of a new defensive coaching staff in Dallas has flipped this positional group on its head.

Who will impress defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and defensive back coaches Al Harris and Maurice Linguist the most in the coming weeks? Will the lack of a preseason force their hand?

Will veterans like Chidobe Awuize, Jourdan Lewis, Anthony Brown, and free agent signee Daryl Worley reign supreme as the stunted offseason makes experience exponentially more valuable than potential? Or will rookies like Trevon Diggs and Reggie Robinson be able to develop quickly enough in order to earn themselves significant roles?

With a whopping 11 cornerbacks on the current roster in Big D, there is no lacking of candidates. But the question remains who makes the final cut and will it all result in a better performance from this unit in 2020. The first of those two lingering questions will be answered soon enough.
