UNFORESEEN DRAFTEE TO SHINE AT CAMP

Last August undrafted rookie free agent Luke Gifford burst onto the scene and made enough noise to earn a roster spot even after falling to a multi-week injury. Aside from draftee Tony Pollard, Gifford turned the most heads of any rookie.

Fourth round draftee Pollard was the surprising camp star of the 2019 draft class, and this August may be know different. Reggie Robinson II (6-1, 205) will also parlay his fourth round selection into making a strong impression on coaches.

Corner spots are up for grabs, though the position is also loaded with four experienced veterans and touted second round selection Trevon Diggs. Along with Diggs, Robinson will get plenty of work in preseason games and the big, scrappy corner will show up.

New secondary coach Al Harris entering with a blank slate could be a blessing for Robinson’s chances making the corner rotation. With his size, speed, and instincts (38 pass break ups), there’s talk he may also get August looks at safety.
