With the 51st overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select…

Noah Igbinoghene, CB – Auburn

The Dallas Cowboys stay in the SEC for their second pick of the draft, choosing cornerback Noah Igbinoghene in this slot. The main reason for going in this direction was the huge run on secondary players after the Cowboys initial pick.

Five cornerbacks (A.J. Terrell, Jaylon Johnson, Trevon Diggs, Jeff Gladney, and Cameron Dantzler) and three safeties (Xavier McKinney, Antoine Winfield, Jr., and Ashtyn Davis) were taken between the 24th and 50th overall selections in this simulation. With cornerback/safety being a huge need for Dallas, it was time to join the crowd.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Igbinoghene, the son of two Olympic-caliber track athletes, has elite athleticism and plays with great physicality. As a junior, he recorded 42 total tackles, seven pass defends, and no interceptions in 12 games for Auburn last season.

Even though Igbinoghene did not put up great statistics, like Chaisson, his best years are likely well in front of him. He can also contribute on special teams, which will be a focal point for this team.
