4. Thaddeus Moss | LSU | Tight end | 123rd overall

Well, I guess I like what Louisiana State University is doing these days. In my four-round mock draft, Thaddeus Moss is my final pick and third LSU product to come off the board.

Here in the fourth round, I took a hard look at Moss and wide receiver Isaiah Coulter from Rhode Island. Ultimately, I felt there will be more receivers to look at in later rounds. However, passing on Coulter wasn’t something I wanted to do.

The receiver, at six-foot-three, demonstrates speed and upside. With the departure of Randall Cobb, the Cowboys are looking for a shifty receiver to handle slot duties and to become a solid third guy behind Cooper and Michael Gallup.

But the Jason Witten departure would keep me up at night if I didn’t fill that void. The Dallas Cowboys need another pass-catching tight end, but importantly, a run blocking guy to take over Witten’s mantle.

This is why I chose Moss over Coulter in this instance. In 1998, owner and general manager Jerry Jones passed on the chance to take Randy Moss. In 2020, Jones doesn’t repeat this mistake and this time around, takes his son, Thaddeus Moss.

Moss won’t turn heads like his father. Though Thaddeus Moss lacks athleticism in the air, he makes up for it on the ground. Running back Ezekiel Elliott would love this addition.

Next. Which teams are the Dallas Cowboys biggest rivals?. dark

While Moss can help with run blocking duties, I like his versatility to catch passes from Dak Prescott. He has this hybrid ability. There are numerous ways Mike McCarthy could deploy him, which makes Moss a nice addition to the Dallas attacking arsenal and protection scheme.
