3. Lloyd Cushenberry III | LSU | Center | 82nd overall

In the third round of the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select a replacement for Travis Frederick. Enter Lloyd Cushenberry, who becomes my second LSU product to join forces with the Cowboys.

The Carville, LA native comes to Dallas and is expected to compete for a starting role immediately. The 6-foot-3, 312-pound lineman ran a 5.27 in the 40-yard dash. He has long arms, great strength and has the frame of mind to become a great lineman in the NFL.

Is he the next great, Travis Frederick? No. Not immediately anyway. But tagging that expectation on anyone isn’t realistic. Frederick was on a Hall of Fame trajectory. His absence will hurt, so Dallas must act fast.

Cushenberry could mold into a solid starter for many years to come. Tagged along with other offensive lineman juggernauts, like Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, La’el Collins, Big D may surge again with a Cushenberry addition to the front line.
