2. Antoine Winfield | Minnesota | Safety | 51st overall

Winfield is likely to go off draft boards in the late first round, early second round. For him to slip to the Dallas Cowboys in the second round is a treat. With Winfield on the Dallas Cowboys roster, the safety room is starting to look sharp.

Antoine Winfield Jr. is the son of Pro Bowl cornerback, Antoine Winfield, who was a first-round pick for the Minnesota Vikings in 1999. Winfield Jr. follows in his father’s footsteps with major expectations.

Playing safety for Minnesota from 2016 to 2019, he was voted unanimous First-Team All-American, First-Team All-Big Team and Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year.

For his college career, Winfield earned 172 tackles, four sacks, nine picks, six pass deflections, three fumble recoveries and forced two fumbles.

Winfield Jr. has some Texas roots: He played football at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas. With the 51st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys bring Winfield back home to Texas to sharpen up the defensive backfield.
