With the 165th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …

Michael Pittman Jr., Wide Receiver – USC

Career Stats: 41 games played, 171 receptions, 2519 receiving yards, 19 touchdowns

Two years ago the Dallas Cowboys were very high on a receiver named Courtland Sutton out of SMU, he would later be drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Cowboys are going to have a few question marks going into their offseason at the wide receiver position, and they need to clear a few things up before the draft happens. Namely, will Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb be back next season.

The Cowboys are looking to bring back both but if they aren’t able to they will need to find someone in the draft to help pick up the slack. Now we know that Mike McCarthy loves drafting wide receivers and a late round pick who is gaining notoriety around the league is Michael Pittman Jr. A big bodied receiver with a strong football IQ to go along with his reliable hands and ability to sky over defenders to make a catch.

Pittman Jr. can also be a big target in the red zone for the Cowboys who struggled at times in this area in 2019. If the Cowboys are able to draft Pittman Jr. and line him up with Cooper, and Michael Gallup and Jarwin it will be hard for defenses to focus on one receiver when all of them have the potential to make a play.
