Wide Receiver Geronimo Allison

When a new head coach like Mike McCarthy is trying to implement a new offensive scheme they tend to bring in former players that can help his current players learn the system quickly. Now while everyone thinks that receiver Randall Cobb is going to return to the Dallas Cowboys we have to remember how well he played last season.

Other teams around the league surely saw the production he had during his bounce-back season and will be looking to bring him in to sure up their slot receiver position.

So if Cobb leaves in free agency who else could McCarthy turn too, well look no further than Geronimo Allison. During his time in Green Bay Allison never got the chance to show off his skills other than in spot play. He also had to deal with quarterback Aaron Rodgers who tended to throw a lot of his passes to his favorite receiver Davante Adams.

While he could face the same situation with Prescott in Dallas, it’s more likely that he can build a rapport with Prescott quickly thanks to his knowledge of the offensive scheme.

That knowledge for a young quarterback learning a new system is invaluable, it will also help the current receivers pick up the offensive language faster. Allison will also be looking to resurrect his career and what better way to do it than hooking back up with the coach that drafted you. McCarthy saw something in Allison and maybe he thinks he can still get it out of him with the Dallas Cowboys.
