Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

The Dallas Cowboys situation at the safety position has been anything but fun and games over the past few years with lackluster play across the board.

But could be a changing of the guard coming thanks to the changing of the guard at the head coach and defensive coordinator positions. The old regime would have tried to bring back safety Jeff Heath, for reasons we will never understand.

The new Cowboys coaching staff though is now in a position to bring in players that they know, players that have shown them they can play in this league at a high level.

Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan and defensive backs coach Al Harris have both said they want a safety that can cover the field and can make plays on the football to create turnovers.

For that reason, I believe that safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could be the guy they are looking for to fill this position. He was drafted by head coach Mike McCarthy so he knows all about Clinton Dix and what schemes he will fit into.

Pairing him with Xavier Woods could give the Dallas Cowboys something they haven’t had in a long time, safeties that can create takeaways and can cover the middle of the field on defense. He’s had his ups and downs but when he was with McCarthy in Green Bay he was at one point considered one of the better safeties in the league.
