Kyle Dugger, S, Lenoir-Rhyne

Every year during the NFL draft we discuss a division two football player who can potentially explode onto the scene. Dugger is that player in this year’s draft.

The 6-foot-1, 217 lbs. safety is one of the most explosive hitters in this year’s draft class when it comes to secondary players.

The main takeaway with Dugger is he could be a dynamic fit at both safety and linebacker. He can cover in space, fill the alley in the run game and he is an exceptional open-field tackler.

The knock-on Dugger is the competition he played, but when you flip the film on you can see he’s ready for the league. He has multiple strengths, he’s incredibly quick in short spaces and he can read route combinations exceptional well.

My favorite thing about Dugger is he is always around the football causing chaos. Whether it is forcing fumbles, intercepting passes or even returning kicks. He is always making a play for his team.

Dugger may be one of the absolute best pure athletes in this year’s draft. Quick feet, great ball skills, high football IQ and can play man or zone coverage. The kid can do it all, we just have to wait and see if the division two competition translates and I think it will.
