With the 51st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …

A.J. Terrell, Cornerback – Clemson

Career Stats: 38 games played, 101 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, half-sack, 6 interceptions, 13 passed defended, and 2 forced fumbles

With so much uncertainty around the Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones and if he will return, I’m going out on a limb and saying he will leave in free agency. This leaves a hole in the secondary that will quickly be filled by Terrell.

Many people won’t like this pick after his showing in the college football championship games but if you go back and watch the game Terrell was in a position to make plays but just couldn’t get to the ball in time.

Once projected to be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Terrell’s versatility in the secondary will come in handy, his ability to play zone and man coverages will give Nolan the ability to better disguise his coverages.

Terrell isn’t to step up and stop the run and also isn’t afraid to try and make a play on the football. He can also play on both sides of the field giving him the ability to shadow receivers in asked to do so.

Terrell would be a very solid pick in the second round for the Dallas Cowboys and give them the makings of a young and talented secondary.
