The Dallas Cowboys have longed for a dominant presence on their interior defensive front. Could Chiefs’ defensive tackle Chris Jones be that key piece?

One of the main questions that needs to be addressed for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason is where can they find an impactful interior presence along their defensive front?

Drafting a player is one solution, trading for a player is always a possibility as well, but with the free agency period around the corner, Cowboys Nation seems to be infatuated with one free agent from the Kansas City Chiefs, defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Ranked as the number one defensive free agent by Pro Football Focus, Jones is a physical specimen at 6-foot-6, 310 lbs. who showed his brilliance this year on the football field once again. In his fourth season as a second-round pick from Mississippi State, he has been an absolute game-changer for the Chiefs defense.

Jones came up with 9.0 sacks, four pass deflections, a forced fumble and 36 combined tackles over 13 games in 2019. During the 2018 season, he recorded 15.5 sacks with 40 total tackles and two forced fumbles.

Jones is a player who can do it all. He plays phenomenal run defense, pushes the interior pocket on passing situations and eats up blocks for his teammates.

The qualities to become a superstar are all shown on film from Jones, and he’s only 25 years old. Would any team want Jones on their defensive front? Absolutely! But for Dallas, there is a bit of a twist.
