2. Kris Richard | Secondary coach

This vote may not be popular with some fans at home, but hear me out. Of course, Richard’s fate will depend on McCarthy and his new defensive coordinator, Mike Nolan. Should Richard not get picked up for any head coaching duties around the NFL, the Cowboys must keep him.

Kris Richard will be a head coach one day. Let me say that again, Richard will be a head coach one day. The Dallas Cowboys are surrounding themselves with staff who have head coaching pedigrees, so simply put, Richard fits this mold.

The defense took a giant step backward in 2019, but I believe Richard is geared for a comeback with new blood running through the pipes of AT&T Stadium. Richard is passionate and fiery, essential ingredients that are required for this young and talented group of defenders.

If the Cowboys do retain Richard, this will only be on rent terms because the coach will land the big job someplace else in the near future. Might as well take advantage now!
