Unveiling the Dallas Cowboys 2010-19 All-Decade Team
By Tyrone Starr
Running back – Ezekiel Elliott (2016-19)
This is a no-brainer. In just four seasons, Elliott has two league rushing titles. He already has surpassed 5,000 rushing yards. Simply put, when the Cowboys decide to “feed Zeke,” the results are usually quite good. Dallas is an outstanding 11-2 in games where Elliott carries the ball 25+ times and 22-4 in games in which Elliott gains 100+ yards on the ground.
Tight End – Jason Witten (2010-17, 2019)
Literally there was almost no one else. His spot in franchise lore and Canton are permanent.
Offensive line – LT Tyron Smith (2011-19), LG Zack Martin (2014-19), C Travis Frederick (2013-19), RG – Ronald Leary (2012-16), La’el Collins (2015-19)
Martin has been a Pro-Bowl selection every season since entering the league and has been named All-Pro four times. Smith has seven Pro-Bowl selections and two All-Pro designations. Frederick has been a Pro-Bowl selection five times with one All-Pro nomination. These three were locks.
I chose Leary and Collins for the final two spots based almost solely on talent. While neither earned any awards during their time in Dallas, both earned big second contracts. Leary moved on to Denver, signing for $36 million and Collins earned an extension worth $50 million to stay in Dallas.
