‘WE LIKE OUR GUYS’

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones is the very guy who loves to remind fans that roster building is a 365 days a year venture.

But time and again when they pass on adding a key piece to the defensive puzzle, the lame “we like our guys” excuse pops up.

Football is a business, both teams and players know this harsh reality. If a player becomes available who is clearly an upgrade and the value is doable, pull the trigger.

Playing the loyalty game in the NFL is a losing proposition.

Cowboys fans have been pleading for a powerful, run stuffing defensive tackle and imposing safety for years.
