‘HOT BOYZ’

Since when do football units give themselves nicknames when no opponent loses a night’s sleep over facing them?

Nobody likes a person who creates their own nickname. It’s even more absurd when there is little basis to back it up.

What are the Hot Boyz great at? Stopping the run? Dallas allowed an opponent to rush for over 100 yards in 11 of 16 games.

Forcing turnovers? 25th in the league at forcing turnovers is a cruel joke.

Their vaunted ability to sack quarterbacks? 18 other teams were better at doing such. Face it Hot Boyz, you’re not hot enough at anything to deserve a nickname.

And if said nickname is equally as embarrassing as it’s undeserved nature, it just needs to stop.

As the legendary Crash Davis said in the movie Bull Durham

"“If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back on your shower shoes and the press will think you’re colorful. Until you win 20 in the show, however, it means you’re a slob.”"
