8. Cowboys @ Raiders – Week 15, 2017

The famous note-card game.

The Dallas Cowboys needed a win in Oakland to keep their playoff hopes alive for the 2017 season. The Raider knotted the game up in the middle of the fourth quarter when Derek Carr found Michael Crabtree to make the score 17-17.

The Cowboys were driving soon after to regain the lead when they decided to QB sneak Dak Prescott on a fourth and one. After the measurement was too close to call, referee Gene Steratore famously pulled out a note card to measure if the ball got a first down.

After the first down, Dak Prescott found Dez Bryant deep down the field, which led to the Cowboys taking a 20-17 lead with 1:30 remaining.

Derek Carr led a tremendous drive down the field and on a 3rd and 3 from the eight-yard line with 40 seconds remaining, Derek Carr took off for the endzone. An all-time hustle play by safety Jeff Heath caused a diving Carr to fumble through the endzone resulting in a touchback, and a victory for the Cowboys.
