The Dallas Cowboys will go into their final regular-season matchup against the Redskins with three of their starters questionable for the contest.

The Dallas Cowboys had a chance to secure the NFC East championship against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. Instead, the Cowboys allowed the Eagles to win the game and placed Philly in the driver’s seat for the divisional crown and a playoff berth.

In order for the Cowboys to make the postseason, they’ll need some help from a divisional rival. Not only does Dallas have to beat the 3-12 Washington Redskins in AT&T Stadium on Sunday, but they also need the 4-12 New York Giants to defeat the 8-7 Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

At the end of the day, the Cowboys can only control what they can control. And in the case of their Week 17 matchup, Dallas needs a victory over the struggling Redskins, who are currently on a three-game losing skid.

The Cowboys themselves have lost four out of their last five games. And going into their final contest of the regular season, the team’s depth will once again be challenged. According to the Cowboys final injury report, three starters are questionable for the pivotal matchup against the Redskins.

Those three players are cornerback Byron Jones (ankle), left tackle Tyron Smith (back), and defensive tackle Antwaun Woods (hip/ankle). That according to DallasCowboys.com.

Smith and Woods have been regulars on the team’s injury report this season. Both have missed a combined seven games this year due to injuries. While Jones hasn’t missed a single contest in 2019 despite having offseason hip surgery. The Pro Bowl corner suffered an ankle sprain during one-on-one practices on Thursday and is considered a game-time decision.

Quarterback Dak Prescott did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to a shoulder injury that he was able to play through against the Eagles in Week 16. Prescott practiced on a limited basis on Friday and did not land a designation on the injury report. He should start against the Redskins on Sunday.
