The Dallas Cowboys absolutely destroyed the Rams on Sunday afternoon, 44-21. And here are three players who well earned their Star in the surprising win.

The Dallas Cowboys seemed to be facing an uphill battle against the 8-5 Los Angeles Rams going into their Week 15 matchup at AT&T Stadium. As the last team the Cowboys would face with a winning record on their schedule, the hopes that Dallas would finally defeat a plus .500 foe seemed slim.

After all, the Cowboys were coming off a three-game losing streak with two losses suffered during back-to-back Thursday performances including a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving and the Chicago Bears. The other defeat was at the hands of the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

The surging Rams were coming off two victories, the last one over the now 11-3 Seattle Seahawks. Yet, on Sunday, the Cowboys were somehow able to put it all together and destroy Los Angeles to the tune of 44-21. And here are the three Dallas players who shined the brightest in the surprising victory …

Ezekiel Elliott, Running Back

Yes, it’s true. The numbers say rookie Tony Pollard had a better game than starter Ezekiel Elliott. The 2019 fourth-rounder posted 131 rushing yards and a score on only 12 carries, averaging an incredible 10.9 per rushing attempt.

But make no mistake, Pollard was merely riding the wave created by Elliott, who himself rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. For Zeke, it was his first 100-yard effort on the ground since Week Nine.

Sean Lee, Linebacker

With second-year linebacker Leighton Vander Esch missing his fourth-straight contest due to a neck injury, the onus was once again on veteran Sean Lee to step up. And despite being listed as questionable for the game against the Rams with a pectoral and thigh injury, the 33-year old linebacker didn’t disappoint.

Lee recorded four total tackles, had a tackle for loss, 1.0 sack, and an interception that he would return 25-yards to the Rams nine-yard line that eventually resulted in an Elliott rushing touchdown. Lee is exhibiting the traits that made him a two-time Pro Bowler.

Kai Forbath, Kicker

Likely no one in AT&T Stadium was under more pressure than Kai Forbath, as the veteran kicker was signed to replace the inconsistent Brett Maher earlier in the week. All Forbath did was connect on all three of his field-goal attempts (50, 42, 42 ) and nail all five of his extra-point tries. It was quite a debut.
