The Dallas Cowboys suffered their seventh defeat of the season, losing their third straight game, this time to the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.

In a span of only 12 days, the Dallas Cowboys have somehow found a way to lose three-straight games. This year’s version of America’s Team lost to the New England Patriots in Week 12, were defeated by the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving, and now, on back-to-back Thursday games, took an “L” from the 6-6 Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys’ star-studded roster continues to grossly underperform this season, losing in the Windy City, 31-24, in front of a primetime audience on Thursday Night Football. And the players expressed their frustration along the sidelines throughout the game.

Dallas scored a touchdown on the opening series, the subsequently gave up 24 unanswered points to Chicago through the first three-quarters of the contest.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 27 of his 49 passes for 334 yards, one touchdown, and threw no interceptions. Running back Ezekiel Elliott ended the game rushing for 81 yards and two scores on 19 carries averaging 4.3 yards per rushing attempt.

Leading the Cowboys in receptions was wide receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, both hauling in six catches each. Gallup had 109 receiving yards off 10 targets, while Cooper had 83 yards through the air along with a late touchdown reception.

Defensively, the Cowboys struggled to stop an improving Bears’ offense that’s won four of their last five games. Safety Darian Thompson, who was filling in for the injured Jeff Heath, led Dallas with nine total tackles and a sack. Cornerback Jourdan Lewis recorded an interception, his second pick on the season. And defensive lineman Michael Bennett recorded a lone sack as well.

Despite the loss, the 6-7 Cowboys remain front runners in their division because of how poorly the rest of the teams in the NFC East have played this season. The 5-7 Philadelphia Eagles will play the 2-10 New York Giants in Philly on Monday Night Football. And both the Eagles and the Cowboys are set to play in Week 16 in a game that could determine the division champions.

The struggling Dallas Cowboys will now have 10-days to prepare for a home game against the 7-5 Los Angeles Rams in Week 15. They’ll surely face tons of criticism between now and then as this team continues to search for some sort of identity with only three games left in their regular season.
