5 Dallas Cowboys who deserve to get pink slips in 2020
Jason Garrett, Head Coach
This one is obvious.
No one is feeling the heat more than head coach Jason Garrett after the Cowboys debacle against the Bills in front of a home crowd on Thanksgiving. That is if the robotic-like Garrett actually feels human emotions as the perpetually-clapping one reacts the same way to every outcome and will continue to preach the virtues of taking it one game at time until the day he empties out his desk at The Star.
This is Garrett’s ninth-year as the official head coach of the Cowboys. And he has a total of two playoff wins to show for it. Most coaches would have been fired years ago, but Garrett’s relationship with both Jerry and Stephen Jones has kept him safe … until now.
Jerry Jones sent Garrett a clear message this year, not extending his contract beyond this season. That message was to win now. And with likely his most talented roster ever, Garrett has sailed this ship into mediocre waters, currently coasting with an embarrassing 6-6 record.
Even if Garrett is able to right the ship in the month of December, win the NFC East for the second-straight season, and get his team to the playoffs, it will likely not be enough to save his job. I don’t believe it’s Super Bowl or bust for Garrett in Dallas. But it very well could be Conference Championship appearance or a pink slip.
