The Dallas Cowboys have traveled to Michigan to take on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Week 11. Here are three players the team must contain.

Tied with the 5-4 Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East, the 5-4 Dallas Cowboys need a victory in Week 11 to ensure their narrow lead in the division. The Cowboys defeated the Eagles back in Week Seven, 37-10. The two rivals will meet again in Week 16 at Philly.

The Cowboys are set to face the 3-5-1 Detroit Lions this Sunday at Ford Field. The Lions will be without their franchise quarterback, Matthew Stafford, due to a back injury. Despite Stafford’s absence, Dallas needs to find a way to limit these three Lions’ players to insure their victory.

Marvin Jones Jr., WR

Although Kenny Golladay is considered the Lions’ top wideout, Marvin Jones Jr. is capable of turning a game on its head. So far this season, the eight-year veteran receiver has posted 47 receptions for 612 yards and six touchdowns.

But the 29-year old Jones displayed his game-breaking ability back in Week Seven against the Minnesota Vikings. His stat-line was an amazing 10 catches for 93 yards and a whopping four touchdowns against the Vikings. It was the second time in his career to post four scores in a single game. If Jones suddenly gets hot, it could turn this matchup into a shootout.

Trey Flowers, DE

The Lions inked former New England Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers to a massive five-year, $90 million contract this offseason as their prized free-agent signing. But Flowers started this season out slow for Detroit, coming off shoulder surgery.

But in the past few weeks, Flowers has started to get his groove back. He’s recorded 4.0 sacks in the past three games and currently leads the Lions current sack leader with 5.0. This is a player who is capable of making it a very rough day for Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott and must be contained.

Devon Kennard, LB

For his first four seasons in the NFL, linebacker Devon Kennard was a member of the New York Giants. So he knows the Cowboys very well. For the past two years, Kennard has been in Detroit and been their most consistent linebacker.

During his time in the Motor City, Kennard has shown a talent for rushing the quarterback. Last season, the six-year linebacker racked up 7.0 sacks, the second-most on the entire defense. This season, Kennard has 4.0 sacks through nine games, all of which were recorded in two contests. Facing a familiar foe, this is one underrated defender the Cowboys should keep a very close eye on.
