The Dallas Cowboys finally gave the keys to the team to quarterback Dak Prescott. He would reward them with a big win in Detroit.

The Dallas Cowboys on the road came away needing a win against the Matthew Stafford less Detroit Lions. Well, thanks to the arm of quarterback Dak Prescott they were able to pick up the win. Although it wouldn’t come easy for the Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys came out like they did last week and gave the ball to the Lions after an Ezekiel Elliott fumble. The Lions would go on to capitalize on that turnover and score a touchdown on a run from the former Cowboys draft pick Bo Scarbrough. On their next drive, they would have to punt but would hold the Lions to their own three and out.

From that point on the Dallas Cowboys offense led by Prescott was able to get into their groove and start piling up points on the Lions. The Lions came out focused on stopping Elliott and the Cowboys running game and for the most part, they were able to. The Cowboys would end their night with 75 total yards from both Elliott and Tony Pollard combined.

With the Lions game plan working the Cowboys relied on the arm of Prescott to win the game for them and he didn’t disappoint. Prescott would go off on the Lions for 444 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target on the day wouldn’t be receiver Amari Cooper but instead Michael Gallup who caught nine passes for 148 yards. The Cowboys would go on to win 35-27 over the Lions.

Sadly though even with the Dallas Cowboys win, they now have to deal with injuries to some key players. DeMarcus Lawrence, La’el Collins, Anthony Brown and Amari Cooper all would pick up injuries in this game. Lawrence and Cooper were able to tough it out and play through injuries but Collins and Brown weren’t able to come back into the game.
