The New York Giants

Now on to the reeling New York Giants who are coming off of a loss to the Detroit Lions this week. These aren’t going to be the same Giants the Dallas Cowboys saw in week one with quarterback Daniel Jones now leading the offense. The Giants will also be fielding a player that Cowboy fans have seen carve up the Cowboys in the past in receiver Golden Tate.

While Tate has yet to really make his presence felt with the Giants on offense, Jones has and in a major way. Since replacing Eli Manning at quarterback Jones has been very efficient completing 107 of his 175 passing attempts for 1,144 yards, and six touchdowns. And while Manning was mainly a passing threat and not known for the ability to get yards with his legs, Jones can, rushing for 121 yards on 19 attempts.

The Dallas Cowboys are going to have to make sure they don’t let Jones extend plays and pick up first downs with his legs this week and force him to beat you with his arm on third downs. They are also going to have to do a better job this week of getting running back Saquon Barkley on the ground. Something they failed to do in the first game of the season with Barkley who was able to gain 120 yards on the ground against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are going to have to rely on their front seven on defense more than ever this week. They must stay gap disciplined and follow the game plan, not over pursue when trying to tackle Barkley or they will allow him to cut a run back for possibly a big gain. If they are able to do that they have a very good chance of winning this game.
