The Bad

While the Dallas Cowboys have been able to take it easy for the weekend and get healthy. They weren’t able to build on their lead with the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Buffalo Bills.

Many were hoping that the Cowboys would be able to head into their game against the Giants with a two-game cushion but that isn’t the case now. Now the Cowboys have to keep their momentum going off of their win against the Eagles going into Monday night football.

That’s a big deal for a team that has been very up and down on both sides of the ball this season. Especially since this team will be going into possibly the toughest stretch of the schedule with the Vikings, Lions, Patriots, Bills, and Bears in the next two months. An while the Eagles have a tough schedule as well the Cowboys can’t just hope that the Eagles fall apart and hand them the division.

That means this offense led by quarterback Dak Prescott and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore are going to have to keep what they’ve started against the Eagles going. Continue to use play-action and pre-snap movement to confuse and attack these tough defenses. If they fall back into their old ways during their three-game losing streak they could fall behind the Eagles quickly.

This also goes for the defense led by DeMarcus Lawrence and defensive play-caller Kris Richard. The addition of defensive end Michael Bennett will help but they can’t let their foot off the gas. They need to stay aggressive with their front four getting pressure but they need to also be aggressive at the cornerback position.

Byron Jones and Chidobe Awuzie need to start using their size and strength to disrupt offenses timing at the line of scrimmage. They also need to hope that the linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch stay disciplined in the gap assignments to sure up their run defense like they did last week with the Eagles.
