The Dallas Cowboys have the fourth-best regular-season record since the 2016 season. How can the team improve to convert losses to wins?

The Dallas Cowboys have had a long lineage of above-average to franchise quarterbacks. There have only been three seasons in the Cowboys history when quarterbacks Don Meredith, Roger Staubach, Danny White, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo or Dak Prescott have not been on the roster.

Throughout the Cowboys history, eras have been defined by who was playing quarterback. By far the best eras were the 1970s and the 1990s when the team won two and three Super Bowls with Staubach and Aikman at the quarterback position.

The Dak Prescott era started in 2016 when the Cowboys drafted him in the fourth round from Mississippi State. Training camp injuries to Kellen Moore and then Romo moved Prescott up the depth chart from the third-string quarterback at the start of training camp to a 16 game starter his rookie year.

During Prescott’s reign, the team has had great success in his first three-plus years winning two division championships and sitting in first place at their bye in Prescott’s fourth year. With no opponent on the schedule this week, where can the Cowboys improve to convert losses to more wins?
